About C2SP
The Coalition for Content Sovereignty and Privacy (C2SP) is an open technical standards organization dedicated to preserving user privacy, metadata sovereignty, and tool neutrality across digital media.
Our Mission
As digital content creation tools and computational models rapidly evolve, media publishers and creators face unprecedented pressure to expose sensitive metadata, hardware signatures, and author identities. C2SP was formed under the Joint Development Foundation (JDF) to provide an open, standardized framework called Sovereign Credentials.
Core Principles
- Tool Neutrality: Generative models, diffusion transformers, and computational software are materials of artistic expression. An author owes the world no mandatory cryptographic disclosure regarding their creative tools.
- User Sovereignty & Privacy: Creators and consumers retain complete authority over what metadata is attached, transmitted, or redacted from published files.
- Silicon Noise Decorrelation: Protecting photographers and whistleblowers from hardware-level camera fingerprinting (PRNU).
Governance
C2SP operates as an open community project managed by steering committee members, general members, and open-source contributors around the globe. Technical Working Groups meet bi-weekly to refine the C2SP core specifications.
